Baldr's Death

Poem (Canso):

Black blood shed by Baldr
Burns red like berry death bed.
Fools who fought with dread figs
Flung death to purest god.
Conniving ice conq’rer
Changing, shifting life’s form
Hel held his beating heart
Whole if all souls would weep.
Life did cry but Loki,
Left to his life’s theft,
Bore no tears for brother,
Bought life not with his eyes.
Closed coldly with plant’s kiss,
Celestial life’s breath.
Put to the pyre most purely
Purified by the fire.
